West Coast Magnetics designs best in class transformers and inductors and provides manufacturing services for electronic products with high engineering content. Our active R&D has resulted in new patented technology and innovative designs for power and RF magnetic components in many applications. We will continually redefine what is possible with magnetic technology. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, WCM manufactures and designs custom engineered magnetic components, and provides manufacturing services for companies competing in the global OEM space. Our manufacturing facilities are in Stockton, California and in Tecate, Mexico.

Weyman Lundquist/ President & CEO

Recognized as one of the leading designers in the field of magnetics, Weyman is dedicated to advancing the technology of power magnetic design. A significant portion of his award-winning work has focused on predicting and reducing winding losses in power inductors and transformers.

In partnership with researchers at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth, Weyman has helped advance the understanding of power magnetics technology. These discoveries have resulted in improved magnetic devices for the power electronics industry.

Weyman is an active lecturer and instructor as well as an avid sportsman. He holds a BA from Dartmouth with a major in Engineering, MSME from the University of California, Berkeley and an MS Engineering Management from Stanford University.

Vivien Yang/ Quality Control Manager

Vivien is a degreed quality professional who has led the company from a basic quality management system to full ISO9001/2008 and ISO14385 certification at both facilities. Vivien is also a vetted designer of transformers and inductors at SMPS frequencies with many successful designs to her credit. Vivien is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is responsible for international vendor qualification.

Vivien holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Industrial Technology from California State University, Fresno.

David Harizal/ Design Engineer

David Harizal is the Mechanical Design Engineer for WCM’s research and development team. He graduated from UC Davis in June 2016 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. During his time as a student, he studied the various branches of the mechanical world; some of which included structures, circuits, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. He has over eight years of experience creating 3D ceramic art projects. At West Coast Magnetics, David commits himself to producing designs that will not only meet the needs, but also outweigh the expectations of our customers. He plans to use his technical knowledge gained from school to continuously seek a deeper understanding of magnetic technology through research and experimentation.

Mary Clark/ Research & Development Engineer

As Research & Development Engineer, Mary carefully designs, performs, and analyzes the results of experiments to evaluate new inductors, transformers, and filters. With a B.S. in Physics from UCLA and academic research experience at UCLA’s Basic Plasma Science Facility, she is experienced in experimental physics and theoretical electricity and magnetism. She is a recipient of UCLA’s Dean’s Prize Medal of Excellence in 2016 for her poster presentation on Alfvén waves in a laboratory plasma, as well as a member of the Undergraduate Research Scholars Program for the 2015-2016 year. She is excited to apply her experimental knowledge to advancing new technology in the field of magnetics.

Shuang “Sharon” Feng/ Electrical Engineer

Shuang possesses solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering concepts and techniques. As an Electrical Engineer at WCM, She helps design, development, assembly and testing new inductors and transformers. She was awarded a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. In June 2018, She received her M.S. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCLA.

Jacob Campbell/ Mechanical Engineer

Jacob received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the Pacific in May 2018. He utilizes his mechanical background for design work on WCM projects and uses every opportunity to further his knowledge of electromagnetic technology. Jacob is also a private pilot, a hobby which complements his mechanical engineering background.

Toni Jimenez/ Purchasing Manager

With more than 30 years of experience in procurement within the magnetics and passives industry, Toni is our most experienced employee. As the department head, Toni wears many hats; a few of the most important ones include improvements to our MRP system, vendor qualification, and process workflow improvements supporting our Quality Management System.

Lisa Reyes/ Production Manager

With more than 20 years of experience building transformers and inductors of all types, Lisa is responsible for leading the production team at WCM. In addition to scheduling and expediting, Lisa is responsible for the Quality System improvements, meet or exceed our quality system goals. Her efforts help us improve productivity, reduce lead time and lower costs.
